Regular Season Round 7: Ourense - Betanzos 92-85

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Betanzos (3-4) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Ourense (2-5) 92-85 on Sunday. Ourense looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Ivorian guard Lionel Kouadio (191-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Romanian Gabriel Preotu (188) helped adding 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Ourense players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Marcos Rozas (202-83) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jorge Abelleira (180-97) scored 17 points and 8 assists. Ourense moved-up to twelfth place in Group A-B, which they share with Avila. Loser Betanzos dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Marin and Culleredo. Ourense will meet higher ranked Marin (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Betanzos will play against Avila and hope to secure a win.
