There was no surprise when 8th ranked Hapoel Haifa (1-3) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Galil Elion (3-1) 76-71 on Monday. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Bryce Washington (201-96, college: La-Lafayette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-95, college: WSU) who added 20 points during the contest. At the losing side American power forward James Thompson IV (208-95, college: EMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (182-86) scored 17 points. Four Hapoel Haifa players scored in double figures. Galil Elion have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Hapoel Haifa at the other side keeps the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Galil Elion will meet Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
