Regular Season Round 9: Poitiers - Stade Rochelais 78-52

Very expected game when 9th ranked La Rochelle (4-5) was crushed on the road by third ranked Poitiers (6-3) 78-52 on Monday. Poitiers outrebounded La Rochelle 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Matteo Legat (191-96) who scored 12 points. American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) chipped in 8 points and 8 assists. Poitiers' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Gaetan Clerc (189-91) who recorded 11 points and British V.Islands forward Norville Carey (201-93, college: Rider, agency: BIG) added 12 points respectively. Poitiers maintains third place in Group A with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Angers, which they share with Toulouse. Loser La Rochelle dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Poitiers will meet Vendee Challans (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Rochelle will play against JSA Bordeaux (#14) and hope to secure a win.
