Regular Season Round 7: Brest - Victoria 41-96

Bottom-ranked Brest is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked Victoria (4-2) 96-41 on Thursday evening. The game without a history. Victoria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brest to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Victoria held Brest to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Victoria forced 33 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 57-43 including a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Brest's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Elizaveta Shyshliuk (178-5) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Ekaterina Novik (170-5) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Five Victoria players scored in double figures. Victoria's coach Viktoryia Datsun felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Anastasia Babak (180-2) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and guard Elizaveta Kapitsa (165-92) added 5 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Brest. Victoria maintains fourth place with 4-2 record. Brest at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Victoria are looking forward to face higher ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brest will play against the league's leader Gorizont (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
