Regular Season Round 7: Sodertalje - Lulea Basket 40-96

Damligan top team - Lulea Basket (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Sodertalje (0-7) 96-40. Lulea Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sodertalje's 26. Lulea Basket forced 27 Sodertalje turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sodertalje's players. It was a great evening for forward Fanny Wadling (185-97, college: Maine) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-95, college: Texas) helped adding 18 points and 4 steals. Four Lulea Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Ellen Astrom (170-96) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Matilda Claesson (170-94) scored 9 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Lulea Basket. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Sodertalje lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Lulea Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sodertalje will play at home against Helsingborg (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
