Regular Season Round 8: Tarragona - Barbera 81-64

Very predictable result when top-ranked Tarragona (6-0) won against at home bottom-ranked Barbera (0-5) 81-64 on Saturday. The winners were led by Dutch guard Yoeri Hoexum (188-99) who scored that evening 16 points and power forward Sharif Idris (204-99) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tarragona players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by center Hernan Olaguibe (203-86) did not help to save the game for Barbera. Point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tarragona have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C-1 with 6-0 record. Loser Barbera still closes the standings with five games lost. Tarragona will meet league's second-placed Castelldefels on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barbera will play against Olivar (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
