Regular Season Round 8: Lancut - Lowicz 77-69

1Liga top team - Sokol (8-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Ksiezak (2-6) in Lancut 77-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ksiezak. Sokol dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ksiezak's 30. They outrebounded Ksiezak 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Sokol looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sokol made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 assists and 4 steals and Filip Struski (200-94) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Jakub Stanios (180-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Arkadiusz Kobus (196-86) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Sokol and four Ksiezak players scored in double figures. Sokol have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Ksiezak at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with six games lost. Sokol are looking forward to face Kociewskie Diably (#6) in Starogard Gdanski in the next round where they are favorite. Ksiezak will play at home against the league's second-placed Tychy (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
