Regular Season Round 7: Orleans - Nanterre 78-79

Nanterre's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Orleans, where they edged Orleans (0-7) 79-78 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Sven Djopmo Komguep (186-4) who led the winners and scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward William Gneze (200-1) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Nanterre players scored in double figures. Swingman Kyllian Rotardier (194-2) came up with 23 points and 5 assists and power forward Philippe Correia (203-1) added 10 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Orleans in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nanterre (1-6) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Paris BA. It was Orleans' seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Nanterre will meet at home higher ranked Gravelines (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orleans will play against Roanne (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
