Regular Season Round 6: Omegna - Oleggio 85-70

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Omegna (5-1) defeated at home 8th ranked Oleggio (2-4) 85-70 on Saturday. Omegna dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Oleggio's 32. The best player for the winners was center Jacopo Balanzoni (205-93, agency: SLN) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Albanian Franko Bushati (191-85) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Four Omegna players scored in double figures. Omegna's coach Flavio Fioretti used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Guglielmo De Ros (186-98) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and the former international Claudio Negri (197-85) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Omegna moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Cividale. Loser Oleggio dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Monfalcone and Crema. Omegna will meet Sangiorgese (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oleggio will play against Empoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
