Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Huelva Com. (5-1) outplayed 12th ranked Xerez (1-5) in Jerez de la Frontera 85-64 on Saturday. Huelva Com. forced 21 Xerez turnovers and had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by forward Federico Ristori (194-96) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Andres Tejada (195-98) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by naturalized Cuban center Santo Cabrera (200-1) did not help to save the game for Xerez. Naturalized Gibraltar power forward Alejandro Garcia (198-1) added 13 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huelva Com. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group D-B, which they share with Dos Hermanas. Xerez lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Cimbis. Huelva Com. will meet at home Pozuelo (#5) in the next round. Xerez will play against Coria (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
