Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Cantbasket (5-3) defeated on the road 12th ranked Leioa (2-6) 72-63 on Saturday. Cantbasket shot 24 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Leioa only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Leioa 45-33 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American-Haitian forward Kessly Felizor (201-97, college: New Haven) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Dominican guard Oscar Cabrera (193-95, college: Daytona St.) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds by Juan Torres (198-92) did not help to save the game for Leioa. Guard Mario Alvarez (190-97) added 8 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Leioa's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cantbasket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group A-A, which they share with Ardoi and LBC Cocinas. Newly promoted Leioa dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
