Very predictable result in Mont de Marsan where third ranked Basket Landes (4-1) defeated 11th ranked Hainaut (1-5) 79-70. Basket Landes forced 21 Hainaut turnovers. Hainaut was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Kendra Chery (187-1) notched 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Brazilian center Clarissa Dos Santos (188-88) supported her with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. Basket Landes' coach Julie Barennes allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 30 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) by Lithuanian forward Laura Juskaite (186-97) did not help to save the game for Hainaut. The former international Myriam Djekoundade (185-98) added 6 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Hainaut lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Tarbes. Basket Landes will play against Bretagne (#7) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round where they are favorite.
