Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Rivas (5-3) edged at home 14th ranked Fuenlabrada 2 (2-5) 58-57 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87) who scored that evening 13 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Albert Serra (193-93) supported him with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92) did not help to save the game for Fuenlabrada 2. Mali center Bassala Bagayoko (208-6) added 9 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Fuenlabrada 2's coach Jose Luis Pichel tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rivas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with La Matanza. Loser Fuenlabrada 2 keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Rivas will meet La Matanza (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fuenlabrada 2 will play against Majadahonda (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
