Regular Season Round 5: Huima - ToPo Juniorit 87-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Huima's (3-3) home loss to fourth ranked ToPo Juniorit (4-1) 87-100 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when ToPo Juniorit's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-23 extending their advantage to 13 points. ToPo Juniorit outrebounded Huima 50-24 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Miki Kuusisto (194-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and American center Tommy Hamilton IV (210-94, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds. Five ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. ToPo Juniorit's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-98, college: ETSU) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and guard Veeti Jamsen (186-2) scored 18 points. ToPo Juniorit moved-up to third place in 1st Division. Loser Huima keeps the fifth position with three games lost. ToPo Juniorit will meet at home Kristika Turku (#4) in the next round. Huima will play against Jyvaskyla BA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
