Regular Season Round 9: Zabok - Skrljevo 94-66

There was an upset when higher ranked Skrljevo (5-4) was smashed on the road by ninth ranked Zabok (4-6) 94-66 on Sunday. Zabok dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Skrljevo's 26. Zabok forced 19 Skrljevo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Veljko Budimir (198-85) nailed 22 points and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Antonio Crnjevic (202-94) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Zabok players scored in double figures. Point guard Toni Jelenkovic (180-97) came up with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Josip Barnjak (193-98) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Skrljevo in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zabok have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Loser Skrljevo keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Gorica. Zabok will meet league's leader Cedevita Jr. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Skrljevo will play against the league's second-placed Split (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
