Rather expected game when 12th ranked Ourense (2-6) was smashed at home by tenth ranked Marin (4-4) 75-46 on Sunday. Marin held Ourense to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Ourense 49-28 including a 42-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Daniel Fernandez who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Dramel Hogan (194, college: Rochester, MI) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by Ivorian guard Lionel Kouadio (191-1) did not help to save the game for Ourense. Romanian Gabriel Preotu (188) added 12 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Marin moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Ourense at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Avila and Gijon Basket. Marin will meet Avila (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ourense will play against Culleredo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
