Regular Season Round 8: Sueca - Picken Claret 63-68

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Picken Claret (4-2) defeated on the road 6th ranked Sueca (1-5) 68-63 on Sunday. Picken Claret forced 21 Sueca turnovers. The winners were led by Javier Lazaro (-97) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Joan Gomez (195-98) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Picken Claret players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by guard Carlos Gil (185-93) did not help to save the game for Sueca. Joan Palacios (-97) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Picken Claret moved-up to second place in Group E-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Sueca keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Calpe and Alginet B. Picken Claret will meet at home Calpe (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Sueca will play against Benidorm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
