Regular Season Round 6: Mantova - Piacenza 74-77

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Serie A2 took place in Mirandola. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Mantova (4-2) to sixth ranked Piacenza (3-3) 77-74 on Sunday evening. Strangely Mantova outrebounded Piacenza 33-0 including a 24- advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Anthony Morse (206-94, college: Tenn Tech, agency: SLN) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Jacopo Lucarelli (197-96, agency: Players Group) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Marco Lagana (197-93) replied with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and American Hollis Thompson (203-91, college: Georgetown, agency: Slash Sports) added 17 points in the effort for Mantova. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Piacenza went down to eighth position (A2) due to points difference. Mantova at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Piacenza are looking forward to face league's second-placed Torino on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mantova will play against Monferrato in Casale and is hoping to win this game.
