Very important is a road loss of second ranked Monaco (5-2) against eighth ranked JL Bourg (4-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Monaco was crushed by JL Bourg in Bourg 88-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Monaco. JL Bourg shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Monaco's players. It was a great evening for international point guard Axel Julien (182-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 assists. International power forward Alexandre Chassang (203-94, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 21 points. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) responded with 12 points and Serbian guard Danilo Andjusic (194-91) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JL Bourg moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Monaco at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with ASVEL and Strasbourg. JL Bourg will play against higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monaco will play against Cholet Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
