Regular Season Round 5: Bnei Hertzeliya - H.Beer Sheva 85-91
Date: November 8, 2021
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (3-2) beat 5th ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-2) in Hod Hasharon 91-85 on Monday. Hapoel Beer Sheva looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Derek Pardon (203-96, college: Northwestern) nailed 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and DR Congolese forward Junior Etou (201-94, college: Tulsa) accounted for 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Hapoel Beer Sheva's coach Rami Hadar used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Quinton Hooker (183-95, college: N.Dakota) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Belgian power forward Andy Van Vliet (213-95, college: William & Mary) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Bnei Hasharon in the defeat. Hapoel Beer Sheva moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Bnei Hertzeliya. Hapoel Beer Sheva will meet Ironi Nes-Ziona (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bnei Hasharon will play against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (#1) and hope to secure a win.
