Regular Season Round 9: Valls - Sant Cugat 89-67
Date: November 13, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Sant Cugat (2-5) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Valls (5-2) 89-67 on Saturday. Valls outrebounded Sant Cugat 43-22 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sant Cugat's players. The best player for the winners was naturalized Brazilian forward Marcus Vinicius (201-86) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Emilio Martinez (182-98) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Valls players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Bernat Camarasa (193-95) who recorded 13 points and point guard Pau Truno (178-98) added 9 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valls maintains third place in Group C-1 with 5-2 record behind leader Lliria, which they share with Olivar and Roser. Sant Cugat at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Valls will meet Pinta Castell (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sant Cugat will play against Barbera and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
