Regular Season Round 9: Socuellamos - Zentro Basket 2 62-54

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Socuellamos and 8th ranked Zentro Basket 2 had identical 4-4 record. This time Socuellamos used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Madrid 62-54 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was forward Diego Serrano (198-95) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Jordan Hickman (201-96, college: Sonoma St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was David Ramirez who recorded 7 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jaime Atienza (184-99) added 5 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Socuellamos. They moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Guadalajara and La Matanza. Zentro Basket 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Alcobendas and Quintanar. Socuellamos will meet higher ranked Pozuelo (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zentro Basket 2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Fuenlabrada 2.
