Regular Season Round 6: Algeciras - Moron 56-90

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Moron (2-4) crushed on the road higher ranked Algeciras (2-4) 90-56 on Saturday. Moron forced 21 Algeciras turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Portuguese guard Diogo De Sousa (198-97, college: Utah St.) notched 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and guard Pablo Marin (190-2) supported him with 22 points and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Even 12 points by Jordanian-American forward Zane Najdawi (201-96, college: Citadel) did not help to save the game for Algeciras. Naturalized Senegalese center Serigne Ndiaye (204-98) added 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Moron moved-up to ninth place in Silver. Moron will meet at home higher ranked Gijon (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Algeciras will play against Navarra (#14) in Pamplona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
