Regular Season Round 9: Igualada - L'Hospitalet 86-88

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both leader L'Hospitalet and leader Igualada had identical 6-0 record. But Igualada was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Hospitalet 88-86 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group C-2. L'Hospitalet made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Albert Homs (200-94) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Swingman Edgar San Epifanio (195-87) chipped in 19 points. Four L'Hospitalet players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Roger Perez (203-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Nil Baques (195-98) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for L'Hospitalet. They keep a position of Group C-2 leader. Igualada at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. L'Hospitalet will meet at home Joventut 2 (#4) in the next round. Igualada will play against Martorell and hope to secure a win.
