Regular Season Round 9: Estudiantes B - Alcala 78-75

There was a surprise result in Madrid where sixteenth ranked Estudiantes B (2-6) edged second-best Alcala (6-3) 78-75 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Michael Drame (195-99) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Hugo Lopez (209-3) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds. Four Estudiantes B players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Alvaro Biersack (198-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and forward Sergio Rodriguez (194-84) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Alcala's coach Angel Diaz tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Estudiantes B moved-up to fifteenth place in Group B. Alcala at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Rivas. Estudiantes B will meet higher ranked Alcobendas (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alcala will play against the league's leader Real Madrid 2 (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
