Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Melilla (2-5) defeated at home bottom-ranked Genero (0-6) 53-48 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-96) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Brazilian guard Alana Goncalo (166-94) accounted for 8 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Melilla's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Imani Robinson (180-97, college: UIW) came up with 19 points and forward Carolina Mateo (185-0) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Genero in the defeat. Melilla moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Coruna. Genero lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Melilla will meet league's leader Arxil in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Genero will play against Almeria (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
