Not a big story in a game in La Carolina where 4th placed Carolinas (3-4) was defeated by leader Jairis (7-0) 77-59 on Saturday. Jairis outrebounded Carolinas 45-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese center Gullit Mukendi (203-96, agency: Promo Sport ID) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Jairis players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Aldo Serneguet (193-96) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and Ruben Ortuno (-92) added 15 points respectively. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Jairis. They maintain first place in Group E-C with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Carolinas keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Archena and Begastri. Jairis will meet at home Archena (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Carolinas will play against Molina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
