Regular Season Round 8: Handlova - Komarno 88-95

Round 8 most important game was a victory of Komarno over one of their biggest challengers Handlova 95-88 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Komarno made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Handlova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian forward Vuk Djordjevic (203-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard KC Ross-Miller (183-91, college: Auburn) contributed with 27 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. The former international center Michal Cekovsky (211-94, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard James Kinney (187-90, college: SJSU, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Handlova. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Komarno have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lucenec and Spisski Rytieri. Handlova at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Komarno is looking forward to face league's second-placed Spisski Rytieri in Nova Ves in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Handlova will play on the road against Iskra Svit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
