Regular Season Round 9: KKS Basket - Politechnika Gd. 65-68

Rather predictable result in Poznan where eleventh ranked Politechnika Gd. (3-5) edged 14th ranked KKS Basket (1-6) 68-65 on Saturday. Guard Stefan Marchlewski (184-98, college: Morrisville St.) stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 assists for the winners and forward Szymon Goszczynski (196-2) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Politechnika Gd.'s coach Artur Gussmann used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-90) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and center Jakub Zamiatowski (199-99) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Politechnika Gd.. They moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Astoria 2. Newly promoted KKS Basket keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Politechnika Gd. will meet at home higher ranked Poznan Pyra (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KKS Basket will play against the league's second-placed Notec Inowr. (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
