Regular Season Round 7: Leszno - Sleza 2 71-53

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Sleza 2 (0-7) lost on the road to fifth ranked Leszno (5-2) 71-53 on Sunday. Leszno outrebounded Sleza 2 42-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Alicja Szloser (179-97) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Justyna Holtyn (185-94) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Aleksandra Mielnicka (173-4) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Sara Pajak (172-2) added 10 points respectively for Sleza 2 in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leszno moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Sleza 2 lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Leszno will meet league's second-placed Pol.Krakow on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sleza 2 will play against Katy Wrocl. (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
