Regular Season Round 9: Estepona - Jaen 71-67

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Estepona (5-2) defeated at home 8th ranked Jaen (2-3) 71-67 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was Danish center Tobias Reinholt (208-95) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Argentinian-Italian Leandro Furlan (193-93) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Javier Santabarbara (197-95) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Alberto Chinchilla (198-98) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Estepona have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group A-A. Jaen lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Estepona will meet league's leader Almeria on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jaen will have a break next round.
