Regular Season Round 7: Borgomanero - Varese 92-94

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Borgomanero (1-6) was edged at home by eleventh ranked Varese (3-4) 94-92 on Sunday. Varese made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Matteo Maruca (185-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Varese moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Borgomanero keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Varese will meet at home Cecina (#10) in the next round. Borgomanero will play against Empoli (#9) and hope to win that game.
