Regular Season Round 7: Jamtland 2 - Sloga Uppsala 64-91

Very predictable result in Ostersund where leader Sloga Uppsala (5-0) outscored 7th ranked Jamtland 2 (2-3) 91-64 on Sunday. Sloga Uppsala dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Jamtland 2's 20. Sloga Uppsala forced 22 Jamtland 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 52-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sloga Uppsala looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 15-of-17 shooting from the field). Bosnian guard Marko Vukovic (191-94) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sloga Uppsala players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward John Palsson (190-99) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Moltas Gyllebring scored 11 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sloga Uppsala. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KFUM Lidingo. Loser Jamtland 2 dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kalmar 2. Sloga Uppsala will meet at home Alvik (#5) in the next round. Jamtland 2 will play against Lulea S. and hope to secure a win.
