Regular Season Round 8: Oviedo - Granada 80-76

The most important game in the last round took place in Oviedo between second ranked Granada (6-2) and sixth ranked Oviedo (6-2) on Sunday night. Granada was defeated by Oviedo in a tough game on the road 76-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Granada. Worth to mention a great performance of DR Congolese center Herve Kabasele (208-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Norwegian guard Harald Frey (185-97, college: Montana St.) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Oviedo's coach Natxo Lezcano used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Lluis Costa (187-93) responded with 21 points and American-Liberian guard Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) scored 13 points. Five Oviedo and four Granada players scored in double figures. Oviedo moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Granada. Oviedo is looking forward to face league's second-placed Coruna on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Granada will play against Lleida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
