Regular Season Round 7: Agrigento - Avellino 72-56

Very expected game when 15th ranked Avellino (1-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Agrigento (5-2) 72-56 on Sunday. Agrigento forced 23 Avellino turnovers. It was a great evening for Estonian forward Mait Peterson (208-2) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Alessandro Grande (185-94) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Agrigento's coach Michele Catalani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Stefano Spizzichini (203-90) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and guard Alessandro Marra (193-96) scored 17 points and 5 steals. Agrigento moved-up to second place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Avellino dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Agrigento will meet R.Calabria (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Avellino will play against Sant Antimo (#11) in Napoli and hope to win that game.
