Regular Season Round 6: M.Haifa - Hapoel H/M 89-100

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Hapoel H/M and 10th ranked M.Haifa had identical 2-3 record. But M.Haifa was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from 100-89 on Wednesday night. Hapoel H/M made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Hapoel H/M outrebounded M.Haifa 45-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hapoel H/M made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St., agency: Slash Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-97, college: Roanoke) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel H/M (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with H.Afula. Loser M.Haifa dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Hapoel H/M will meet at home M.Ashdod (#9) in the next round. M.Haifa will play against H.Izrael in Nazareth and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Winner League just one year after relegation.
