Regular Season Round 10: AZS UMK - Chelmno 108-63

There was no surprise in Torun where bottom-ranked Chelmno (0-10) was outplayed by eighth ranked AZS UMK (5-5) 108-63 on Wednesday. AZS UMK forced 23 Chelmno turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Chelmno's players. Guard Krystian Mackiewicz (188-99) fired 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Power forward Szymon Janczak (206-0) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four AZS UMK players scored in double figures. AZS UMK's coach Kamil Michalski felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Lukasz Mirolewicz (196-95) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Mateusz Krawiec (187-87) added 22 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. AZS UMK maintains eighth position in Group A with 5-5 record. Loser Chelmno still closes the standings with ten games lost. AZS UMK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chelmno will play against Arka (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
