Regular Season Round 8: Visby - Mark 101-89

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Mark (6-2) against fourth ranked Visby Ladies (6-2) on Wednesday night. Visiting Mark was defeated by Visby Ladies in Visby 101-89. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Mark. Visby Ladies made 23-of-24 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mark 52-33 including a 42-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Visby Ladies players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by Jessica Kelliher (183-97, college: Lewis) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and forward ALexus Harrison (188-95, college: SFU) supported her with 10 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. Even 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals by guard Chanette Hicks (168-97, college: Norfolk St.) did not help to save the game for Mark. Forward Brittany Hernandez (185-93, college: UCCS) added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Visby Ladies moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Mark. Visby Ladies will play against Sparks (#10) in Huskvarna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mark will play at home against the league's leader Lulea Basket (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
