Regular Season Round 12: Arka - MKS DG 81-80

A very close game took place in Gdynia between Asseco Arka and MKS DG. Eleventh ranked Asseco Arka (5-7) got a very close home victory over 15th ranked MKS DG (3-9). Asseco Arka managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Thursday evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Jacobi Boykins (196-95, college: Louisiana Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international Bartlomiej Woloszyn (196-86) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Mike Lewis II (185-98, college: Duquesne) who recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import Devyn Marble (198-92, college: Iowa) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively. Five MKS DG players scored in double figures. MKS DG's coach Jacek Winnicki rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Asseco Arka maintains eleventh position with 5-7 record, which they share with Trefl. Loser MKS DG dropped to the fourteenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with GTK Gliwice and Start. Asseco Arka will meet at home higher ranked Enea Zastal (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MKS DG will play against Trefl (#12) in Sopot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
