Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked M.Ashdod and 12th ranked M.Raanana had identical 1-3 record. This time M.Ashdod used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Raanana 98-91 on Thursday night. M.Ashdod made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (196-93, college: Barry, agency: BIG) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five M.Ashdod and four M.Raanana players scored in double figures. M.Raanana's coach Yossi Bonen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. M.Ashdod (2-3) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with H.Ramat Gan. M.Raanana lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with M.Ma'ale Adum.. M.Ashdod will meet higher ranked Hapoel H/M (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. M.Raanana will play against the league's second-placed I.Nahariya (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
