No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ashdod (3-1) crushed on the road 9th ranked Holon (1-3) 80-61 on Thursday. The winners were led by American guard Victoria Vivians (185-94, college: MSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and international power forward Alexandra Cohen (196-93, college: Northwestern) supported her with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by American center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for Holon. International forward Danielle Raber (183-96) added 2 points and 16 rebounds for lost side. Ashdod have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 3-1 record behind leader M.Haifa, which they share with Ramla. Loser Holon dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Ramat G. and Petah Tikva. Ashdod will meet at home Ramat H. (#5) in the next round. Holon will play against Petah Tikva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
