Regular Season Round 6: Rustavi - Cactus 73-86

Cactus' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Rustavi, where they defeated Rustavi (1-3) 86-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Cactus. Rustavi managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cactus had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jordan Forbes (193-98, college: Salem) notched 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Cactus players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Ishmael Hollis (203-92, college: N.Georgia) did not help to save the game for Rustavi. His fellow American import swingman Christian Keeling (190-98, college: UNC) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cactus maintains ninth position with 1-4 record, which they share with Dinamo and Batumi. It was Rustavi's third loss in a row. Defending champion dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Titebi. Cactus will meet at home league's leader Kutaisi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rustavi will play against Tskhum-Abkhazeti (#5) in Tbilisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
