Regular Season Round 8: CFBB - Calais 68-94

Everything could happen in Paris at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Calais and 11th ranked CFBB had identical 1-6 record. But CFBB was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Calais 94-68 on Friday night. Calais dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 44. They outrebounded CFBB 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shakayla Thomas (180-96, college: FSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds and forward Maud Stervinou (175-97) who added 26 points and 6 assists during the contest. Guard Manoe Cisse (161-4) responded with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Leila Lacan (174-4) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CFBB's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Calais (2-6) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Reze. CFBB lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Calais will meet league's leader Mondeville on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. CFBB will play against La Glacerie (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
