Everything went according to plan when second ranked Pozuelo (9-7) won against at home 8th ranked Socuellamos (6-5) 73-67 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Alberto Arias (188-89) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jordan Hickman (201-96, college: Sonoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian point guard Adrian Armstrong (183, college: Concordia) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pozuelo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 9-7 record having just ten point less than leader Lliria. Newly promoted Socuellamos dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Guadalajara and La Matanza. Pozuelo will meet Real Betis 2 (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Socuellamos will play against Fuenlabrada 2 and hope to secure a win.
