Everything went according to plan in Warszawa where fourth ranked Kotwica (8-2) beat 12th ranked Dziki (3-7) 83-66 on Saturday. They outrebounded Dziki 39-28 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kotwica looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Piotr Smigielski (191-89) who scored 12 points and 8 assists. American point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: USC Aiken) chipped in 20 points. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. Point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (180-93) produced 18 points and 8 assists and guard Bartosz Majewski (192-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Kotwica moved-up to third place. Dziki lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Lowicz and Koszalin. Kotwica will meet at home Ksiezak (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Dziki will play against Krakow and hope to secure a win.
