Regular Season Round 11: Wisla Krakow - Polonia Bytom 63-102

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Polonia Bytom (9-2) smashed on the road 8th ranked Wisla Krakow (6-5) 102-63 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Wisla Krakow's 34. Polonia Bytom forced 21 Wisla Krakow turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Wisla Krakow's players. It was a great evening for power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Marek Piechowicz (201-88) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. Forward Mateusz Nowacki (198-99) responded with 8 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Radoslaw Skubinski (190-0) scored 16 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They keep a position of Group C leader, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. and Tarn.Gory. Loser Wisla Krakow keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Polonia Bytom will meet AZS PC (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wisla Krakow will play against Przemysl and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
