Very predictable result in Klaipeda where leader Lithuanian Neptunas (6-0) outscored 10th ranked Latvian Daugavpils Universitate (2-3) 102-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Daugavpils Universitate's 36. Neptunas forced 26 Daugavpils Universitate turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Daugavpils Universitate's players. American point guard Savannah Plentovich (172-98, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Brazilian Maisa Pereira (183-2, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points and 12 rebounds. Five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Center Inga Voronko (185-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Kristina Egle (177-86) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Daugavpils Universitate's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Neptunas. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Loser Daugavpils Universitate dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Siauliu Siauliai. Neptunas will again meet Daugavpils Universitate (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Daugavpils Universitate will have a break next round.
