Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Chantada (6-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Leon (8-3) 67-62 on Sunday. Leon outrebounded Chantada 42-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Argentinian swingman Federico Copes (199-2) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Rodrigo Llamas (191-1) chipped in 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Hugo Rey (187-3) responded with 17 points and forward Cristian Iglesias (200-94) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Leon have an impressive six-game winning streak. Despite that victory Leon went down to fifth position (Group A-B) due to points difference. Loser Chantada keeps the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Marin. Leon will meet league's second-placed Porrino on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chantada will play against Betanzos (#9) and hope to secure a win.
