Regular Season Round 9: Hrunamenn - Hottur 97-111

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Hrunamenn (4-6) lost to second ranked Hottur (8-1) in Fludir 97-111 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hottur. Hrunamenn managed to win second period 31-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hottur looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Adam Asgeirsson (193-98, college: John Brown) nailed 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Croatian forward Matej Karlovic (200-89) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Clayton Ladine (188, college: Rocky Mountain) came up with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Croatian Karlo Lebo (196-94) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Hrunamenn in the defeat. Five Hottur and four Hrunamenn players scored in double figures. Hrunamenn's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hottur keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Haukar. Loser Hrunamenn dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Hottur will meet at home Fjolnir (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hrunamenn will have a break next round.
