Regular Season Round 12: Slask - GTK Gliwice 106-74
Date: November 21, 2021
Not a big story in a game in Wroclaw where 13th ranked GTK (3-9) was rolled over by eighth ranked WKS Slask (6-6) 106-74 on Sunday. WKS Slask made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. WKS Slask outrebounded GTK 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by GTK's players. The best player for the winners was international power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Turkish Kerem Kanter (207-95, college: Xavier) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Four WKS Slask players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Filip Put (201-93) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Daniel Golebiowski (196-98, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. WKS Slask have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with King. GTK lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Start and MKS DG. WKS Slask will meet at home Spojnia (#10) in the next round. GTK will play against the league's second-placed Anwil (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
